What to Look For

When evaluating a microschool, consider these factors:

  • Guide qualifications: What is the guide's teaching background and training?
  • Curriculum approach: Is curriculum included, or do families bring their own (BYOC)?
  • Schedule and attendance: Full-time, hybrid (2-3 days/week), or flexible?
  • Group size and ages: How many students? Is it multi-age?
  • Location quality: For franchise/network models, quality can vary per site. Visit in person if possible.
  • Accreditation: Is the program accredited? Does that matter for your goals?
  • Cost and funding: What is the tuition? Can ESA or scholarship funds be used?
  • Trial period: Can your child try it before committing?
