About Homeschool Tools
What This Is
Homeschool Tools helps families find curriculum and resources that fit their unique needs. The site includes:
- A free curriculum finder that gives you personalized recommendations based on your child's learning style, your budget, and your goals
- Detailed reviews of over 240 programs, synthesized from expert review sites and parent communities
- An educational approach quiz to discover which homeschool styles fit your family
- Homeschool legal guides for all 50 states with requirements, pathways, and resources
The recommendations come from AI analysis of expert curriculum reviews, parent discussions across homeschool communities, and current program information. The goal is to cut through the overwhelming number of choices and help you make informed decisions.
Who's Behind This
Hi, I'm Greg. I'm a product manager and developer who got into the homeschool space while researching education options for my own family. I saw that parents were spending hours comparing options in spreadsheets and asking the same questions in online communities, so I built a tool to help.
The site now includes reviews of over 240 curricula and programs, synthesized from expert review sites like Cathy Duffy Reviews, community discussions, and parent experiences. AI helps match families to specific options based on their unique situation — learning style, budget, grade level, and goals.
What Makes This Different
No curriculum to sell. I don't create or sell curriculum, so I have no incentive to push you toward any particular option. The recommendations are based on what actually fits your situation.
Transparent methodology. The advice comes from AI analyzing trusted sources including curriculum review sites, homeschool community discussions, and current program information. When I add features or change data sources, I'll document them here.
Actually helpful, not promotional. This site doesn't have pushy email capture, fake urgency, or generic blog posts. We have a small number of clearly-disclosed affiliate links that don't influence what gets recommended.
Privacy-respecting. I use Plausible Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites. I don't share your data with anyone. You can delete your results anytime.
What's Coming
I'm building this iteratively based on what families actually need. Recent additions include homeschool legal requirement guides for all 50 states, an educational approach discovery quiz, and curated review pages covering 240+ programs. Next up: expanding coverage to include microschools and tutoring providers, and adding a curriculum comparison tool.
What's Under the Hood
- Reviews and data on 240+ curricula, synthesized from expert review sites and community discussions

- Homeschool legal requirements for all 50 states + DC
- Educational approach discovery quiz

Why It's Free
I built this because families deserve unbiased help finding what works for them. The site is free because this information should be accessible to everyone.
The site has a small number of affiliate links with curriculum publishers, which are always clearly disclosed and never influence recommendations. There's no premium tier, no paywall, and no plans to add one.
Feedback & Contact
This tool is most useful when it's actually solving real problems. If something isn't working, if you have suggestions, or if you found it helpful, I'd love to hear from you.
Acknowledgments
This site relies on the work of curriculum reviewers who evaluate programs thoroughly, homeschool communities who share honest experiences, and curriculum creators who make excellent resources for families. I'm trying to make that collective wisdom more accessible.
